Max

August 4th, 2009

It was a great pleasure to meet handsome little Max the other day. He did have rather a different agenda to mine however, i.e. one that didn’t involve being posed for photos! With lots of patience and his super mummy on hand for comfort hugs we managed to get some lovely images. Here’s one of my favourites:

Let me know what you think.

Blu

June 2nd, 2009

At just 12 days old and what a handsome fella little Blu is! Not just that but really happy too - must be his cool parents!

I think I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again - I just LOVE my job!

Emma & Wal

May 12th, 2009

I really enjoyed this shoot back in April with Emma & Wal at Old Portsmouth which seems to have become one of my favourite locations these days!

We were a bit short for time but still managed to get some lovely images of these guys having a bit of fun.

Let me know what you think!

Jack & Harry

May 4th, 2009

Having a little look through my posts the other day I noticed that almost every one has a mention of the weather. Well, it is a pretty important factor with most photo shoots taking place outdoors on location - it’s not so much of a problem for me getting wet (although I prefer not to) but it’s not often what clients have in mind when they book the session!

On this particular day I had already been forced to sit outside my house, in my car, unable to get out because of a torrential downpour of hailstones! Talk about April showers… I had serious doubts as to whether the shoot would go ahead but with a few hours to go I just crossed my fingers and hoped it would pass.

Fortunately, the weather held off just long enough to get these great pictures of Jack & Harry in their garden, but not long enough to stop me from getting soaked on the way back to my car!

Clare & Dan’s pre-wedding photo shoot

April 25th, 2009

A couple of weeks back I photographed Clare and Dan for their pre-wedding photo shoot at the beautiful water meadows in Winchester. Luckily we missed the forecast showers and I had a great time capturing some beautiful, natural shots of this lovely couple.

Kay and I are so looking forward to capturing the magic on their very special day next week.

Here are a few of the images:

Busy April …

April 25th, 2009

Well April has proven to be a very busy month for me with a fabulous variety of portrait sessions from babies to commercial. So I really have had a great time this month, doing what I love to do, being out there with a camera in my hand! I also love the post production side, but it can get a bit behind at busy times, like now and just like this blog!

Thought you might be interested in an image I took last April - you would never believe it based on the gorgeous weather we’ve had this April!

Newborn Casting Call!

April 9th, 2009

I’m constantly inspired to create visual art and recently my mind has been overflowing with all manner of ideas for a newborn project. I’m hoping to run a number of sessions aimed at achieving specific ideas using various poses and props. I have to say that, it’s difficult to know if my ideas will work (as I haven’t tried them yet) but the time has come to put the ideas into practice so that I can find out!

So my casting call requirement is for newborn babies (up to 10 days old) to be photographed at home. The session will be based around a couple of ideas that I would like to try. Some of the ideas may take a little while to get right (as they are new ideas) but I have heaps of patience and am happy to wait for baby feeds, comfort cuddles, nappy changes and baby to fall asleep!!! If baby is happy, and there is time, we may be able to try further ideas also.

For this casting call, I will need you to sign a model release (so that I can publish the images) and in return there will be no session fee as well as complimentary prints. If you would like, you can also make further purchases from the session at a specially reduced rate.

If you have just had your baby or are pregnant now and would like to be involved then please give me a call, or drop me an e-mail, ASAP so that I can clear a space in my diary for the session.

Ooooh, baby, baby!!!

April 5th, 2009

On Friday I had the pleasure of meeting the fabulous Natasha and her gorgeous newborn Eloise. It has to be said that new little babes tend not to take direction too well in a photo session, of course they have other things on their mind like feeding and clean nappies! Still, with a bit of patience and a super cool mum we managed to get these crackers!

Let me know what you think!

Licenciate Award

March 23rd, 2009

In January (I know, I’m a little behind!) I was awarded my Licenciate qualification by The Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (LSWPP). I found the experience of preparing a panel that would meet the exacting needs of the society an incredible learning process that without a doubt has taken my photography on to another level.

Here are a few of my favourites from the successful panel:

School Holiday Family Bookings

March 17th, 2009

Oh dear, I seem to be getting terribly behind with this blogging thing! It seems an age ago that I took this lovely photograph of the gorgeous Hannah last October half term on the beach at Hayling. It wasn’t the best conditions for a photo shoot with the wind, rain and cold against us - in such conditions I thank goodness that I choose to use professional Canon equipment that doesn’t let me down. Thankfully Hannah was an absolute Angel (despite feeling a little under the weather) and it was a pleasure to photograph her. Doesn’t she look gorgeous!

Today, the weather and light is glorious, and bookings for family portraits over the Easter Holidays are good, in fact, if you’re thinking of booking in over the Easter holidays then it’s probably best to do it sooner than later - time has a frustrating habit of catching up with us!
